Headteacher at Wrenthorpe Academy
I have been in the teaching profession for 28 years. During this time, I have seen many changes and developments within education. The one aspect for me that has remained unchanged is the reason why any young person would enter the profession, which is a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of children. I made the decision to become a Headteacher in 2009, after teaching for 20 years, to have the opportunity to make that positive difference to a larger number of children by running my own school.
We were keen to join a Multi-Academy Trust of like-minded Primary Schools to ensure that staff get the opportunity to share their expertise by supporting other colleagues and to receive challenge and support from the other schools within the Trust. We became part of Waterton Academy Trust in April 2017 and are proud to be part of a very supportive family of Primary Schools.
