Executive Headteacher at Lee Brigg Infants' and Normanton Common Primary Academy
Since qualifying as a teacher from University College Bretton Hall, I have spent my career teaching across Key Stage One and Key Stage Two, but primarily in the Early Years Foundation Stage. My background in early childhood development underpins my firm belief that children first and foremost need to feel happy, secure and settled within their school environment in order to learn effectively and fulfil their potential.
I have actively developed my roles within schools throughout my career, leading Early Years, before becoming a deputy headteacher, then a headteacher. As part of my senior leadership positions I have been responsible for teaching and learning, curriculum development, assessment and safeguarding amongst other things. I continue to work as a local authority moderator and support the local authority by delivering at training events. I have worked with local teaching schools to develop future leaders and I am currently an active OFSTED Early Years Inspector.
I am very excited and proud, not only to be the Executive Headteacher of Lee Brigg Infant and Nursery School and Normanton Common Primary Academy, but also to be part of the Waterton Academy Trust.
