Normanton Junior Academy
Since qualifying as a teacher in 1997, I have been fortunate enough to work in a variety of primary school settings, in five different Local Authorities around the country. Working in a school setting means that every day is different, and my role as Head Teacher at NJA is never boring! Although I have only been in post at NJA since January 2015, I feel very privileged to be doing something that I love for a living and I look forward to seeing what the future at NJA has to offer.
Over the years, my experience has led me to develop a strong belief that children learn best when they are having fun and are engaged in practical, real-life activities, and this is something that drives everything that I am trying to achieve at NJA.
I also believe that strong relationships with parents and the wider community are vital in ensuring that children are supported as they move through their school life, learning the life-skills required for a successful future. So I am delighted to be working together with not only the NJA community, but also everyone else involved in Waterton Academy Trust, to ensure that we all make a positive contribution to the lives of pupils in Normanton, Crofton and the surrounding areas.
