Hub Board Representative
Originally from Cambridge, I started my teaching career in Yorkshire at the age of 21 after studying in Sheffield.
Following several years of working in Middle Schools, I moved to a primary school in Ackworth where I spent the rest of my career. During this time I was an Advanced Skills Teacher for French supporting several schools across the local authority; Deputy Headteacher and finally Headteacher for ten years.
I am now retired and and regularly volunteer in several different roles at Nostell Priory as well as being a keen gardener and toy maker.
I joined the governing body at South Kirkby Academy in 2021 and am keen to use the skills that I developed during my career to support my local school.
Having previously worked within an academy trust structure, I have a good understanding of how this system works and how the support of an effective trust such as Waterton can positively impact upon the schools it oversees.
