Educational Welfare Officer
I was part of Wakefield Council for 14 years within Equality & Diversity, Early Interventions and Preventions Team, and Inclusive Learning Team. I worked with vulnerable families, Gypsies, Travellers and Eastern Europeans, within schools and the families. I have been a Youth Offending Team Panel Member, Independent Monitoring Board Member, Vice Chair and Chair at Marshgate Prison & YOI, and a Governor at a Wakefield School. After being made redundant, I worked for 2 years at the Wakefield Night Shelter and Drop In as Coordinator. This brought new challenges, improving my knowledge on addictions, homeless issues and mental health.
I am excited to be part of a very successful Trust. I bring many years of specialised experience in working closely with families and schools to build good relationships, improve attendance, learning, welfare and challenging the negatives that may hamper the right to live and learn in a positive, happy environment.
