Neil is Chief Executive of Rossendale Borough Council in Lancashire. He has over 20 years senior management experience in local government and the private sector.
Previously Neil has been the Strategic Director at Great Yarmouth Borough Council where he led the council’s agenda around housing, environmental services, specific regeneration projects and organisation-wide IT transformation. This included being a Director on two council owned companies.
Prior to this he spent 13 years in a national role with the Local Government Association. This included being the Principal Adviser for the LGA with responsibility for all local authorities in the North West region. He has held a variety of senior local government roles at NW Leicestershire DC, Bradford MDC, London Borough of Redbridge and started his local government career at Maldon District Council in 1998. Before the public sector he spent 6 years working for Santander.
Neil also has a teaching qualification and has 6 years part time experience as a lecturer at Wakefield College, with a focus on FE, HE and professional courses.
