Chair of Trustees
I have undertaken many voluntary roles over the years within education as I have a passion in influencing outcomes for children. I can see what happens first hand in my role within the Prison Service when children are failed and not given the best opportunities available to them. I want to influence and help direct the future, making things the very best it can be, allowing all who learn and work within our schools to have the best environment and skills to progress. I have worked as a civil servant for over 21 years and prior to this as a food chemist within a microbiology laboratory. I have a wonderful wife and 2 children who keep me on my toes. As a family we love the outdoors and spending quality time together, which is not always easy in a busy work and family life. I am passionate about education influencing outcomes and particularly supporting schools in developing a rich learning environment. I am very passionate about this theory as I firmly believe everyone, no matter what, can make a difference. I have had exposure in a variety of life experiences, this alongside sound operational background within the custodial setting, allows me to have a good grasp on reality and reasonableness regarding outcomes. As Chair of Trustees, I will be committed to supporting important decisions as directed by our board and members, and those in need direction and help. I am not afraid of a challenge and will ensure our voice is heard when needed. Equally, I am more than aware of the need to listen then act when we have a measured balanced approach to resolutions.
